The Frontier Culture Museum offers homeschool families the opportunity to learn history in the way that homeschoolers learn best: through active involvement in the day-to-day activities of the past. Students are encouraged to participate in cooking, gardening, wool and flax processing, and animal care.

The Virginia Museum of Natural History is dedicated to providing engaging natural history programming to homeschool students. Currently, the museum offers Homeschool Wednesdays, a series of monthly programs throughout the school year year designed to supplement students' learning and knowledge of natural history and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) based topics.
